Watercolor Houses
Houses are one of my favorite things to paint. It’s not just that I love drawing structures and interesting architecture; I love knowing how many memories these homes hold for the people I paint them for.
These commissions often come to me when someone is moving out of a childhood home or saying goodbye to a place that has been part of their family for years. It actually started when I painted my grandparents’ house as a gift after they moved from Orange County to Tucson. Their home held so many memories for me, but even more for my dad, who grew up there.
That one gift snowballed into many more paintings of people’s homes. Each one is different, but they’re always incredibly nostalgic and happy projects for me to create.
